How To Make Espresso in a Moka Pot
Little stove-top moka pots can make good espresso,
with a minimum of cost and effort.
Difficulty: Easy
Time Required: 10
minutes
Here's How:
1. Fill the bottom
reservoir of the pot, keeping the water below the pressure release
valve.
2. Place the funnel
piece into the opening of the reservoir.
3. Fill the top part
of the funnel with ground coffee.
4. Screw the top
portion of the pot onto the bottom.
5. Place the pot
on the stove-top and turn up the heat.
6. In a few moments,
the water and steam will force its way up through the coffee into
the top portion of the pot.
7. Once the espresso
stops flowing into the top portion, remove from heat.
8. Pour into your
favorite espresso cup and enjoy.
Tips:
- Lightly pack the coffee when filling the middle
funnel piece.
- Watch the brewing, and remove from heat as
soon as the liquid stops coming through.
