How to use coffee grounds
in the garden
There are a number of ways to use up those old
coffee grounds, right outside your door.
Difficulty: Easy
Time Required: n/a
Here's How:
1. Great for compost. Coffee grounds add great texture and acidity
to your compost. Tea bags work well too.
2. Fertilizer. If you don't have a compost bin or pile, you can
just add some grounds directly to the soil around your flowers
for some extra fertilizer.
3. Control some bugs. Supposedly, ants hate coffee. So spread
your old grounds around where you have ant problems.
If you don't brew enough coffee for a good supply of grounds,
ask at your local coffee shop. Many will be happy to save some
for you.
